What diff ratio do I have?

Ok just got done putting my M-coupe diff cover on and found out my car dosn't have a limited slip diff despite the tag saying it's a 3.73 limited slip.(88 325is).
I counted teeth on the main gear and there are 41 it has the numbers H35 B14 2878 1345 on it.
Any ideas what ratio it is?

why dont you spin the input flange and count the times the output flanges turn? :D

that only works to a point
there's no way you could tell the difference between a 3.73 and a 3.93 unless they we're beside each other and you had some sort of marking system..

take a chuck of lead or get a pencil and cover the tag with it then get a peice of paper and all small flat peice of wood or metal and use it to push it against the tag and then you'll be able to know because the numbers on the tag are pressed into it... this is how i did mine 2.93s woot :?

Ok I can visably read the TAG says S 3.73. But once you crack it open the internals are not from a limited slip diff. So I'm thinking somewhere along the lines someone changed out the diff, so I'd like to know what ratio is trully in there as the Tag is Wrong.
I'm not sure if that part number on the Main gear can be cross referenced or not.

sounds like someone swapped out the diff cover on ya

only way i know of to find out from there would be start looking for part numbers and cross reference them on the ETK

Ely, when you spin the input shaft, do the outputs spin in the same, or in opposite directions?

Oposite, I know beyond a shaddow of a doubt it's open but I'm just curiose what ratio
              41:13= 3.15
              41:11= 3.73
              41:10= 4.10
I was told those could be some of the possible ratio's in it.

                Here are some more
                Ring Pinion Ratio
                41 9 4.56
                41 10 4.10
                41 11 3.73
                41 12 3.42
                41 13 3.15
                41 14 2.93
                41 15 2.73
                41 16 2.56

I think this is the reason it feels like my 318i with a 3.91 limites slip diff feels like it will Accelerate off the line faster untill the 325i comes on the cam.
