Adding power windows to an early car

I have an 84 318i with manual windows, I want to switch over to power. I've seen an early 318i with power windows as well, so my question is this:

Other than putting power motors in the doors and related hardware for the glass (not sure on this), does the main harness in the car have connectors to add the power window switches? In other words, would I have to splice anything or does my car have the wiring and is just missing the motors and the interior switches and it's wires or is the harness from the factory different on the cars when they are built with and without power windows?

there an 84 318i at a junk yard with power windows, I don't want to waste my time removing stuff from it if it's more involved than just remove the harness and plugging it in to work.

    Thanks

your car should have all the wiring in place already but I would check to be sure. you will need the motors, regulators, and the glass.

why not find a local r3ver with a hard on for manual winders and swap them out? everyone always seems to drool over manual windows.

they've probably just never owned a car with manual windows for any period of time ('67 dart FTL). or they always drive with them rolled up, even when it's hot and stuffy in the car. I hate people like that. :p

I've had my interior apart many times, but for example my 89 has way more wiring in it. I guess I'll just have to pull the interior out of the car in the junk yard to see where the window switches connect to and go from there. Crank windows are not my thing lol.

Went and looked at an 84 318i Automatic with power windows. It had aftermarket wiring going to the center console/switches. Not factory.

My car does not have any wiring under the console for power window switches.
