It uses an older style connector, I believe.

The one i want to put in my car is a universal 87 325i o2 sensor so wiring shouldnt be a problem. Could there be any other issues.

There's a couple connectors, if I remember correctly. On my old Eta, I think the 02 that was attached half way down the exhaust had a TWO prong connector. Then, up in the engine bay, there was the 4 pin connector used by later years. When I swapped to I-exhaust, the I-o2 connected right up.

Either way, if you can change the connector to what you need, you shouldn't have trouble. As long as you get the heater, ground, etc etc all the same.

There is a write up that says you can use a mustang 4.0 O2 sensor in an e30. the price difference is huge. Has anyone done this before? Is there a difference?

Bump. Just bought a 94 Mustang 5.0 O2 sensor for $58 new. Is there a wiring diagram anywhere os some instruction on which wires to splice?

                        bump.

There are two white wires. Is there any way to discern the difference between them?

I'm currently trying to put in a new O2 sensor in my '86 ES. I followed the E30world writeup with the Mustang sensor but it won't thread in. When I bought the car the O2 sensor was dangling down and all beatup, so I'm not sure if the exhaust bung's threads are fine as I can't test factory fitment verses my new one.

Should my Mustang O2 just thread right in? If it should, it's not, so what are the thread dimensions so I can get a tap for it?

Just get a thread chaser for an O2 sensor. M18x1.5
