    Bilstein strut question

    Just got a quick question-

I have been working on replacing the suspension in my 88 325is and am wondering for all the dyi mechanics what they do with the strut dampener. The thing that goes onr the shaft of the strut.
Has anyone cut them in half so that the suspension doesn't prematurely bottom out?

    Any help is greatly appreciated!!

    You mean the bumpstops?

Bilstein has internal bump stops, you don't have to use the one that was on the shaft of the stock strut.
