    Hitting a brick wall...

Ok, I'm in need of help as I'm selling my Eta tomorrow (hopefully). Anyways, my car feels like it hits a brick wall at 1500-2000 rpms. I have to change gears to get the car going. When it does this it only gets up to 40 mph. The car doesn't do this all the time. I changed the AFM out and the problem still occurred. Also sometimes the car starts then dies. It does this about 2 times before I finally can keep it started...

    Crap I did to it...
    Rotor button or cap
    Spark Plugs
    AFM
    Fuel Filter
    Pick Up Sensors

I have all day to work on it at my buddys shop, but he wanted me to check here for help. Thanks guys...

I know it's early to bump, but I gotta get this thing fixed so I don't have to worry about tomorrow.

And it idles fine? sounds like AFM.......but you changed it out, for a confirmed working one right?

And you've checked the Bentley right? (covering the basics first, don't be offended)

            It idles perfect.

I also brought the volt meter out and tested the spark wires. They're fine...

ecu or 02 sensor? just swap one out for a cheap used one and see if anything changes.

Ecu already been replaced. Does it when its cold and warm so It can't be the 02. I even unplugged the o2 it the problem proceeded.

I shall be going through my bentley then.........

So let me get this straight, you are in gear, begin to move and at 1500-2000rpm the engine sputters or what? No pinging right? And is this still happening when in neutral?

If you answered yes then it might be the ignition timing, because the car thinks its accelerating however if the timing isn't being changed to deal with the detonation then it will eventually get to a point in the rpm's where it will detonate.

The thre4e things to check out with this problem would be the air flow sensor, fuel pressure regulator and the throttle switch.

It doesn't sputter. It just loses power and goes back down to about 1000 before the gas starts working again.

                        Intake boot?

Sounds like a vacum leak to me.
