'Cmmon LA County^^^Dude, Wilmington is fucking picked kleen every week. I've been there religiously for the last 6 months and you find shit here and there, nothing you couldn't find at telfair., but you know the PAISAS (hispanic migrants) get their fucking hands on all the good shit before anyone else. If you end up going or would like to go sometime this weekend let me know.

I also know of a few other yards around the area.

TIMING is certainly everything. Midweek is nice.

As for the "'yard vulchers" as I call them (I'll leave race out of it) where the heck do all those parts go!!?? They pull stuff off of cars and throw them in a pile, you never see that stuff on ebay (it would be filled if it was) or forums. I assume its all to cheesy body shops etc.

Once, guys had a pickup absolutely loaded down with alternators and starters, they must have gotten every one in the yard. I could only assume they pull the copper wiring out and sell it off for more than the cost of the parts.

Picked up an 18mm gearwrench ratcheting wrench in the back of a bmw. It's even better because my identical set went right from 17mm to 19mm. I may go exchange it for a new one at sears.

you all have some inexpensive junkyards! Out here it's often a decision once checking out if you really want to pay for all of it.

Scored a cardinal bolster from an E24 for my torn one, couple bucks.

Oh, and an E34 tool kit for my project...... just got done doing some dremel work last night.

They rebuild them. Ever hear of a refurbished alternator or P/S pump?

The environmentalists are closing all the yards here and if you do find anything you were looking for it's probably going to be expensive....

Yes, I've heard of a refurb.
However. If you saw the old pickup truck bed loaded 4 feet deep with alternators, none tagged, no ID, just ripped out of any and all cars as quick as possible I think you'd second guess they are being refurb'ed.

Maybe they are taking all of them so that people have to buy new ones! Black helicopters...
