    Clutch problem?

Well I dont know enough about cars so i dont really know what the problem could be, so any help would be great.

My car drives great, but when I drive for a long time, say 30-40 + minutes, I have problems starting from a stop on 1st gear. I would give the car gas, let go the clutch as normal, but the gear do not seem to engage properly and start to shake like the first time driving a manual transmission... The engine is revving fine, so I guess it's the clutch slipping, or something along that line.
But then, why would this problem only occur after driving the car for an extended period of time? If i leave the car parked for a while, but car goes back to driving fine.
anyone know what the problem may be?

I hope that I just need to replace the clutch, it will be an excuse to get a lightweigt flywheel :D

My car has done the same thing to me.... but only 1 time. It was right after I signed the papers and paid for the car... too late to have the dealer fix it (as is).

Anyway it freaked me out. I popped it into 2nd at the light when it started jumping and jerking and rolled out from there... never happened again. I have no idea what it was though. Hope it never happens again. Please let us know if you figure it out.

It doesn't sound like a slipping clutch. When the clutch is slipping is usually doesn't "grab," making the revs go up higher than it seems because the power isn't getting to the ground.

Let's drive fast and have fun.

What should happen when you pull the Ebrake and start to let the clutch out?

Well, if your clutch is good then it'll pull on your car a bit, making the back end dip down.

If your clutch is slipping, it'll make the rev's climb and you wont feel any pull on the car or the back squating at all.

                interesting...

seems like we have the same problem. I rarely experience the problem, but once it start, it doesnt stop until I shut the engine off for an extended period of time.
Like you said, I kept on starting on 2nd, quickly shifting into 2nd.....

Sure sounds like it, but I'm certain my clutch is good. It holds strong, even under abuse.

My problem seemed to become evident when I was in bumper to bumper traffic and had to keep enguaging/disenguaging the clutch repeatedly.

thats exactly it with me as well.

I had been driving for a while, then when i was in the city with constant stopping, the problem stated to occur.

so someone have any guesses as to what our problems might be?

Im gonna call the shop tomorrow, and see what they say.
