    Ultrasonic cleaning of fuel injectors

I want to clean a set of green 17lb fuel injectors I have. I have access to one of those ultrasonic cleaners, the kind used in hospitals, dentists and stuff. Would it be safe to put them in there with a solution of water and petroleum solvent? Would it damage the solenoid or any internals? It's much cheaper than paying $25/per to have them refreshed and cleaned at a shop. Any advice?

these guys: www.cruzinperformance.com did a set of 6 for like $70 a couple years ago.

I think the problem is you will have no way of verifying that they are all flowing the same - this guy also replaces caps, screens, and o-rings, and makes sure the electrical parts of the injector are working as well. and you get a datasheet to back up his work. They get media blasted and inscribed with serial #s as well.

I don't see them hurting them. Ultrasonic cleaners aren't very harsh on stuff, which is why they are used a lot in the medical/dental/electrical field.

what nando said... you can clean them... but its kind of pointless if you cant test them to see if they are all flowing the same. I think I used witch doctor something for the cleaning. I think the going price now a days are around 100 for 6 of them, so yea, I think it would better to pay someone else to do it.
