    Electrical Issue?

    hey
so lately ive been having a problem with my car missing. its stutters and shakes and doesnt accelerate but doesnt do it on deacceleration. I cant figure out why because it does it intermittantly. Theres no set time or temp or rpm or speed that it does it but when it does the tach and coolant gauges stutter with the engine. its gotten progressively worse lately. It also somehow makes my car not turn-over after its been parked. the battery is fully charged but wont turn the starter. and for some weird reason the coil IS INSANELY HOT. cant even get near the sucker. so... ANY IDEAS? thanks

yea i have been cleaning them. but im not finding any corrosion. and now my starter doesnt work. it just clicks :( idk why. i tried using a jumper wire from the power to the selanoid wire and that just made it click more. could it be my ignition switch? and now my fuel pump is turning on before i even try and start the car. as soon as the lights on the dash come on the fuel pump comes on now ???

Take your jumper cables and clamp one neg end on the drain plug, and the other neg onto the strut tower. Then try and start. If it works the engine ground on your oil pan is bad and needs replacing.

the fuel pump and coil both get their power from that relay. I'd pull the relay and see what happens (FP should lose power) - it defintely should not be powering your coil with the car off! if it is disconnect the battery or coil until you fix it, because it can fry the coil and/or the ECU.

Do you KNOW that it is voltage related? what voltage does your battery read right now?

well i dont KNOW that its electrical related or i wouldve fixed it already. I replaced the coil already. We tried bump starting the car and it wouldnt start either. the we're getting power to the coil too. we're also gettin power to the starter but its just clicking. i just talked to a bmw shop. he also said it could be missing cause a magnetic sensor couldve fallen off the flywheel. idk. im so confused. When the car would miss and you turned it off... it wouldnt start. but when it didnt miss the car would start fine. thanks guys
