Changing the temp selector's lightbulb?

I tried to open the dash by removing the knobs & slider handles but it seems to be one piece. Surely the whole dash doesn't have to come apart to change a freaking bulb???

there are 2 bulbs that light up the whole bottom part of the dash (fan speed, temp selector, ect..) It's easiest to take off the plastic dash piece that covers them and you will see the 2 bulbs easy. Pop them out and replace them.

Everything but my temp selector lights up. I never noticed before because I am always hot so I want it cool. I drove with my wife yesterday at 3am and she was cold so I noticed it's dark. No clue how long it's been like that. There are two rectangular "cutouts" beneath the fanspeed/temp select areas is that where I look? I tried & it's nearly impossible to see.
