Sure you didn't damage the new VC gasket when you were replacing the cover? Is it torqued down properly? Can get a good vac leak there.

I don't see how I would have damaged the valve cover gasket. I put a drop of permatex here and there so it would lay flat. I torqued it all down to 11 ft. lbs. Regardless, I got another valve cover gasket, and a 3/8" drive torque-wrench (the one I was using was 1/4 and too bulky), and I'm going to do it all over again.
I'm also going to install another distributor cap and rotor since I have new plugs gapped at the Robert Bentley specification and new wires.

you know, i really am not sure. I did it all at the same time...dont know if it was a re-adjustment or the cap and rotor. if the cap and rotor have not been done in a while it should be changed anyway...and if it is not that, then you can re-install the old one and save the new one for later on down the road.
