    M50 swap wiring question

Call me an idiot, but I've never done a project like this before. I have a 92' non-vanos m50 sitting in my garage with a complete engine harness and ecu. Following the wiring charts on akgmotorsport.com, I spliced the m50 harness to an extra e30 connector I have. I'm still left with a bunch of wires on both sides of the connection. I know that the tach signal must be spliced in separately but what else am I missing?

I noticed that most of the wires I spliced together are the same color on both the m50 and m20 harness, do I just continue connecting same-colored wires?

Do I need the relay box from the M50 or can I use the one from the e30?

If my questions aren't clear enough, I can take some pictures.

    Thanks.

hit me up with a pm when you figure everything out. Pics of this would be a nice addition to the e30 forum. I'm attacking this project very soon.

    Thanks

i only used the wires on akg's website and had quite a few left over too. the car ran fine and all the gauges worked. you only need the 3 realys with the m50 harness, th stock e30 fuse box stays with the car.
