    Intake manifold vaccum leaks

Has anyone else had an intake manifold leak? im trying to diagnose my low vacuum/sometimes crazy idle problem. Im thinkin that if its just 1 cylinder that has the leak, it could be causing the lowered vacuum yet mosttly steady idle. When its NOT steady it drops to around 400 rpm and runs pretty rough and then kiicks back up.

    do i have a winner?

I've had this happen to me before. Can't recall which cylinder the gasket was failing at....but the symtoms included:

    rough idle
    weird part/full throttle behavior
engine check light on "strobe" mode

I made the repair myself....a bit of a PITA, but the new gasket fixed it once and for all.

P.S. Be sure to check all intake path boots. Even a small crack in one can result in very noticable performance loss.
