I bought all the parts my self, look at it from this point of view. In racing there are rules to follow, everyones motor has to be the same generally. So why is one cars motor more powerful then another? They all have to built within a specific set of guidlines. So people learn how to use stuff like that to there advantage. Experianced engine builders know how to get power without having to add new parts. They know how to give the motor what it needs. I was asking him to do what ever he could to raise the top end power, get the most out of the top end. He was the one that told me, this motor was to gererate torque, so lets help it generate torque. It's little things like that at add up, he took apart the motor, catching everything he could do when he put it back together. Building power doesn't have to cost alot of money. My dad had many season championships under his belt, and we had very little money. Mind you he is a very talented driver, but they always had just as much if not more power coming form the motor as the guys who didn't have to worry about money. The bottom line is that unless you've tried or done it yourself, you'll never really know. I only wish i could understand half of the shit that goes on under the hood of my car, this being my very first rebuild.
I'm getting him to show me how to adjust my valves, here soon, I'll find out exactly what all was done. But I know all new part that were bought were stock, because i bought them personally. I'll have it dyno'd very soon as well, because i really want to know the gains my slef
