    I need a new muffler

I bought my car with custom exhaust on it. It has headers into a single 2.5" pipe with high-flow cat and back into a magnaflow single in-single out muffler. I bought a single in-dual out magnaflow last week so I could have the dual tips and thought the sound would remain about equal to the other magnaflow.

Problem is this one is too loud for me, or I'm too old for it. Either way I want something a little tamer. I like Jordan's but can't find a single in version like it. Anyone have any suggestions? Is there anything I can add to this system to quiet it down without changing the muffler? I want something with about the same noise level as an AA generation 3 system on an e36.

and btw, both the magnaflows are up for sale if anyone wants them.

Add another muffler inline after the cat. Just a simple single in single out, no offsets, put it in a straight section of pipe. You should be able to get one for $50-80.

I'm interested in your mufflers, post the specs and maybe some pics and the price you want.

You should be able to get a cherrybomb at your local muffler shop. Those usually run about $35 and quiet it down significantly.

I was actually thining of putting an inline muffler on it but didn't know if that would kinda be ghetto.

OK, I'm going to play dumbass on this one. What is a resonator, and where would it go? The only ones I know about are resonator tips that help keep away tat raspy sound at high rpms, but I've heard people on here talk about having them inline??
