    Catalytic Converter Woes

I just happened to look under my car today to discover that the catalytic converter was smoking. I am guessing that this means that its dying? If its something besides this id appreciate some help. thanks guys

I've never heard of that happening before. Have you checked everything around it to ensure there isn't some kind of fluid leak that's causing this smoke?

I'm about to replace my cat with a used one. The one on my car is starting to rattle a lot. I think its seen too many speed bumps (read: car rides low).

It's probably transmission or engine oil leaking onto the cat and getting burned off.
