so i was driving home from work, doing about 80 in the fast lane, its pretty heavy traffic, not slow, but a lot of cars, in massachusetts 80 is slow. when all of a sudden, there's a brige with like some fucking speed bump in it, i have 0 time to react because it just pops out of the car in front of me's ass, and its 10 feet in front of me while doing 80, so i have to go over it, it's basically like a small speed bump (same shape). now my fuckin car shakes violantly, especially around 50mph. therefore its either: my new wheel or wheels got bent, or i threw a wheel weight, either way im pissed. also, now on the way home, my 6-button obc read -22 F for the outside temp, when i got home i looked at my front left wheel, and there's 2 wires hanging out of pretty much where the foglight wiring is, so im pretty sure i lost my outside temp sensor? is that what it is? one looks like a wire got ripped out od a crimp, and the other wire looks like it has some kind of wierd crimped thing on the end of it like it should just slide onto something. im pissed, any ideas what to check first?

Yes, atleast one of those wires is for the ambient temp. sensor--it plugs into the driver side brake duct.
As for the bump, that is a motherfucker--but it is what happens with that low of a suspension setup and that low of tire-profile. Check the wheel to see if the weight(s) are still there. If not, take the wheel/tire to a tire shop and have them balance it, that will also let you know if the wheel is fucked.

update:
i just went outside, jacked up the car and spun the front wheels, they seem pretty straigh, and the weights were all there (i think)
as for the outside temp sensor, the wires hanging out are red and purple, and they go up into above the foglight.
anyone have a pic of the outside temp sensor?Dan

Call the city. File a claim for damage to your car. At least that works here.

Dan, you're going to have to check the insides of the wheels. the second day after I had my car back together (with newly stiff konis), I nailed a HUGE pothole and bent my front right bottlecap. looked fine from the outside, but on the inside it was obviously bent. you can keep driving on them (I did for 15k), but it'll drive you nuts.

i fixed the title...
um, i think im going to get an estimate at the dealer for replacing the temp sensor, also get "proof" that the wheel is bent, get the price, and report it to mass highway, see if they'll pay, ill end up with a sorta messed up spart then i guess, and some money left over after i replace the temp sensor myself, we'll see how that wokrs, i hate mass highway, these roads are friggen terrible.Dan
