    New car, new problems=rev limiter

I recently bought a 89 325is with a metric mechanic engine. It should be able to hit 7200 rpm but at about 5500 it seems like i hit the rev limiter! My first guess is at the FPR and i was wanting to get other peoples opinions and ideas, because i'm no licensed mechanic.

I'd call metric mechanic and see what they have to say. Which engine do you have?

      r3vlimiter, we don't need no stinking r3vlimiter.

I have the 2900 sport and other than the rev limiter problem it runs awesome. I am really impressed with what they did to it. It could be so much faster if the r3v limiter was fixed. The cam kicks in at 4500 then i jump into the RL. It seems to vary with engine temp. 5500 when hot and 6200 when cold. thanks for the replies.
