I took my car out and drove to pick the girlfriend up for dinner. When I was driving, whenever I was accelerating there was this "clicking" noise that seemed to be coming from the front of the engine. I can't really describe it but I'll do my best. It sounds like when you have a cassette or CD case in the door holder and it's vibrating against the plastic walls, but very faintly. It also sounds like someone is welding or soldering something from a distance. Sort of a "crackling" sound.
I have no idea what it is. I changed my oil today, but that's all. I haven't done anything to my car lately. I changed the timing belt last week, but the noise only started tonight.
It becomes louder when I accelerate hard and under WOT.
I'm going to look more in depth tomorrow since it's dark now, but does anyone have any ideas to what it could be?
And since I don't want to start another thread, here's another question.
I changed the timing belt and water pump last week with a friend. We flushed the coolant out of the radiator and all the hoses. We refilled it and that was that. I drove home about 70 miles yesterday from school, and during the drive my coolant light on my check panel came on. I put some more coolant into the reservoir this morning, bled the air from the hoses, etc.
After driving it tonight, the check light came back on. It doesn't seem to be leaking anywhere. Do I just need to add more coolant or what...? I accidently overfilled the reservoir but let all the excess spill out before capping it, so I don't think I need more.
Any ideas on either topic?
Sorry about the long posts, but I wanted to be as descriptive as possible.
TIA
