Actually, euro option. I've only ever seen one though, on a Baur 323i TC. I may have mistaken it for something it wasn't, though.

Are you talking about the finned thing under the radio?

Is there any sort of filter not necessary micro filter that filters anything in the air coming into the cabin from the source.

Where does the air enter the car that gets blown into the cabin?

          Thanks!

In open mode, air is drawn from the vents in the the cowl, just below the windshield.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

the only E30s that got a cabin microfilter were without AC. All NA cars came with AC that I know of, so you don't have one to change.

it should be in the heater duct near where the heater core is.

Nando, you are correct (as usual lol). The Baur didn't have AC.

euro cars without AC didn't get them either.

the cars that had them are the very few that recieved the climate control-- I am pretty sure you can tell this if the car has numbers in the sticker of the dial for the temp. adjustment (the blue to red fade sticker.)

I wonder if it's possible to retrofit a cabin filter? My wife's Honda has one and it gets really nasty.

I actually just found a car in the junkyard that might have one. '84 318i. US-spec, but rear headrests and the numbers on the temp dial. I'll have to go look now.
