I've never personally dealt with Bavarian Engine Exchange but when I asked some machanic friends (and fellow BMW faithful) about the motors from this place every one of them cautioned me to not give them my business. To cut to the chase, the kits consist of mainly used parts (except things like gaskets and hardware). Pistons, con-rods, cranks are all used items. What they typically do is take a few broken identical motors, disassemble them completely, set aside the best looking used parts from each one and put it in a kit to sell. They do clean and inspect the items first but I don't think their procedures are very thorough.

Again, just going from info. others have told me. Exercise the buyer beware policy here.

I have heard pretty much the same thing regarding the engines they sell. The kit on ebay APPEARS to be all new parts. Although, it does say on there that the pictures represent option parts as well. I had never heard of the brands used for the pistons or rings, I'd doubt they compare to Mahle or Wiseco though.

        Run bitch run!

They use a lot of used/recon parts. The 335i that was local started burning oil quickly and it was one of thier kits.

I too have heard bad things about their rebuilt engines, and failure to stand behind their warranty. Could be hearsay, but I wouldn't take the chance.

Talked to a local engine builder and he said they were complete trash. His exact words were..."if the built your engine, bring it in here because we are going to have to tear the fucker apart."
