    Anyone reused there o-rings?

I don't expect allot of answers since it's not a commen thing to pull off
(What for, right?) but it's werth a shot.

Has anyone reused there injector o-rings before?
Have they leaked at all? No problems? Other then being torn, what's a sign that they're
    ready to be replaced?
I read that using motor oil to lube will make them easyer to slide back in the cup,
    is that a good idea?

Any tips and tricks on pulling them off?
    Appriciate.

    Um, injector o-rings? replace them.

Like $9 for all 12, whatever. (2 per if memory serves right)

Use oil to lube them and put them on. Getting them off was the hard part really.

      Thanks rwh.

People say that the valve cover gasket needs to be replaced everytime you pull it off but I've reused it
on this car four times already with no problem.
It's a cheap $7 gasket but why get a new one, right? :?

If it isn't riped or torn it's all good, but maybe the o-rings are diffrent?
Once you take them off they stretch and can't reseal?

      Just the facts mam

Getting them off was the hard part really.
      VERY CORRRECTNESS
      It's a bitch. :x

It's not worth seeing it they reseal right or will leak fuel on your engine.....it is $9......

the gasket......i dunno. parts guys said they have re-used them, but recommended a waffle style one they sold for like $13 maybe, it was made to be reused a couple times.

your valve cover gasket doesn't have to hold fuel pressure. just get the damn o-rings! :)

oh, i forgot to add. mini screwdriver. pretty helpful when getting the o-ring off, just stick it in there and carefully pull up and then slide it off. be careful not to break any of that fragile plastic on the injector.....it's not too hard to do.

            or just cut them off.

well, they weren't mentioned and the injectors I got from Bryson were in pretty good condition.

You should replace your o-rings, just as a matter of safe measure.. I have re-used them in the past, but ended up breaking one on removal so I had to take the rail back off and replace them.
I would recommend using vaseline on the o-rings to install them, it makes them slide in very easily and the fuel will eat up the vaseline in no time at all and won't be detrimental to the engine

                    They sell those?
I got two used injectors an hour ago btw. Is the cap to protect the
injector from heat or is it for spray pattern?

I got some astroglide, could I use that?

Was it all hard and brittle? Mine still feel like good rubber and they're pretty flexible.

Thanks for the comments, I won't replace them (for now) just to see if they can be reused or not.

yes they sell the caps. I think mine cost like $8. you can get them at any autoparts store (Napa etc).

the rubber on them still felt rubbery, not brittle at all, it just kinda tore and leaked a bunch of fuel

My friend is trying to get a junker 2nd gen RX-7 to start and just used some gasket maker gel on the o-rings (couldn't find a set anywhere around here, and he rips them all the time because he moves them around a lot). It stopped them from leaking, but that's the cheapest thing I've seen done. Still doesn't start... ;)
The BMW 318 is back. With a vengeance.
