    Moving battery to trunk

I did a search and read up on it but where does the wire run from the front to the trunk? is it in side the car or on the underbody??

On E30's that come with the battery in the trunk the main power lead and the DME power lead run inside of the car along the passenger door sills
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I routed to the hole where DME harness routes through firewall.

Cabriolets have a knock out oval hole in front of the glove box, on the right...right where the 6 bangers have the stock run.

Please document everything you do using pictures if you can. I wanna try this on my vert when I get a chance.

I was thinking of going to a junk yard, and remove the high gauge wire from one that has it in the trunk and simply retracing that back on my vert.

I figure it should not be a huge deal.

              :D

I will take pics when I go to do this. First the subframe is getting dropped to be rebuilt. I read somewhere that someone did this on their vert and ended up about an inch short to the Battery so they moved the block that the wire connects to in the engine bay over an inch or so. But they also said that if they did again to start in the trunk and work your way forward. Thats what I will do. Also their cables didn't come from a vert so the vert ones might be a little longer.

'Verts have a front battery for a reason. The additional bracing on the inside of the car make it a fucking BITCH to run that cable.

I recommend you find a helper like this one:
If you look carefully, you can see the brace.
