Where to buy Wheel Bearings?

The wheel hub sits on the inside of the bearing, if the bad bearing is left to long the heat will degrade the ball bearings inside. this can cause the Axel end to snap, the wheel can come off the car. at worse it will destroy the trailing arm, and the wheel. This kind of thing can be a hazard to you and others on the road around you. I know it may be a beater but this is not like the windshield is broken. it can be dangerous...

there isn't a trailing arm on the front of an e30 and he is tracking the car

I didn't see anywhere in your post that you were looking for the front ones, considering that you do them probably only once for the life of the car (well maybe twice), even at $120 a pop for the fronts I would say they aren't too expensive ;)

They really should be replaced each season on a full race car. But given the racing he is doin they prob need to be changed every few seasons.

To the OP I'm not sure about the bearings seizing, etc. I've never heard of something bad. I've only heard of them being loud and annoying, but most ppl replace them pretty quick when that happens.

Worst case I've seen or heard of is my sister. She had an explorer and the front wheel bearing went out. She ignored the noise and kept driving it. The bearing eventually "stopped making noise" so she thought it fixed itself. The bearing failed and destroyed the hub too. But she didn't wreck, die, or even know it messed up the hub. She just decided to take it in after a while to get looked at so there is no telling how long it was like that.

the front wheel bearings are cheaper at auto zone believe it or not and they are Made in Germany nevertheless. Well, i don't know in which part of the country u r in and if autozone is there.

I see lots of variance in pricing...who has a good lead? Darn things are expensive.


Also, suppose my wheel bearings are pretty crappy, what would happen if I didn't replace them? This is a Lemons car after all. If it's just going to be crappy that's fine, but if it's going to seize and cause a DNF, not OK.
