After reading the info on those links I'm glad I didn't go ahead and buy the original MS. I can wait the few months and then I'll order two...One for the 325e and the other for my pickup...The pickup's going to be the guinea pig; I'm really tired of its crappy emissions-era carburator.

I would highly suggest using megasquirt, it will give you an advantage on any engine, and throttle response will be A LOT better as well. If I were you, I would use the Megasquirt n' EDIS or Spark system, so it gives you control of the whole engine, not jsut the fuel curve.

Turbo is definately the way to go to get real power out of these egines, sure the 153hp was cool, but it too got old after a while, you will crave more. Here is a price list of my engine build up, you might even be able to find better prices now. http://matt325i.home.comcast.net/Webpage/turbo.html .

I havent driven my car in over a month because i'm attending school 5 hours away from home. I really dont have a need for a car over here, adn i save money on gas and maint. as well. I did get my engine fixed just before i came here though, 2nd blown head gasket in 3 weeks before I moved over.

Some of that stuff I ddint even use, like all of the head components... Though this does not include my recent upgrades (3" exhuast, new wastegate adapter.... stuff I did myself..)

I originally had megasquirt listed in there, but somebody else suggested SMT6 + MAF, so I did that instead. It won't matter until August anyway, I'll be running the 2.8L with the stock motronic for the first single mile or so, to make sure the engine even runs.

        I'll figure it out soon.

EverWiser: I remember reading in more than one place that it is not a good idea to buy or sell used high-compression pistons, because they can vary so much in diameter and measurements. What may have fit in my M20 may not fit well in another M20, or so I read.

Actually, the MS-II is just an upgrade. You simply replace the processor. So you can order all of the current MS parts right now and then upgrade the processor when it's available, saves time later and you get to be familiar with it.. Lots of other stuff you can collect too, sensors for TPS, engine temp, EDIS6-module, etc ..

True but one of those links talked of the "Ultra MS" with additional I/O points and the stepper control for IAC motors. That was the one I was referring to when I said that I was glad I waited. You're right about the MS2 being the new processor daughterboard that interfaces with the original MS.
