    HELP ME IM GOING CRAZY

    Ok i need to get my starter out. Whats the easyest way to get to the Bolts. I have a 86 325e .. Im having so much truble getting to the bolds. Thanks for your time!

    yeah if anyone could post on how to do this it would be very helpfull to me as well(1991 318is) even though I dont think that it makes a difference. I think I might have found 2 bolts but I am afraid these are the 2 bolts that hold the starter together. Are the starter and starter solenoid 1 unit? I have to have this done because I am dropping the tranny and its the last thing that stands in my way.

      They are one piece.

      To access them, you need like 3' worth of rachet extensions and the proper size female Torx socket. Go under the car, get behind the tranny, and guide the long extensions forward to get the two bolts.

        you need like 30 feet of extention and people to support the joints so they dont fly apart when you pull the trigger on the impact gun.... but it is just two torx style fasteners t35 i think

                  IIRC its T14 female torx.
