when off my wipers will not return to bottom of windshield, but wipe fine.

Wipers on, everything looks fine. But when I shut them off they stop 1/3 from the bottom. Any ideas? Thanks.

yeah you have to adjust the stop position.

ok, sounds like something I can do. So, how do I do it? Thanks.

when they sweep, do they go lower than the stopping position? if not, you have to just undo the wiper arm, and reposition it. if they sweep below the stopping position, then you have to get in there at the linkage under the cowl. you can undo the bolt to the motor, reposition the linkage at the appropriate stop position and bolt it back.

the system detects the stopping point at the motor, not at the linkage. so you have to 'align' the linkage to the motor.

Yes, they wipe lower than the current stop position. Can you run that procedure by me one more time? Are the linkage splines keyed so that I will know where the wipers should be?

I am also having this issue. Although I fear my linkage itself needs to be replaced.

#1 - stop the wipers. let them go to their non ideal rest position

#2 - disconnect the wiper motor to wiper linkage connection

#3 - wipers are now loose and can be moved by hand. reposition to desired rest position

#4 - reconnect wiper motor to linkage connection

If the wipers move through the normal range, the problem isn't going to be the linkage. I sort of recall that there's sensor like object that can get dirty and interfere with the park function.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

yes, the position track in the motor should also be cleaned.

Would that be why my wipers are jittery on intermittent?

What do you mean by the "position track in the motor"? It is finally warm enough to attempt to fix this problem. Thanks.
