    UK E30 dyno day results

    Thought you guys might be interested in this. In last month's issue of TOTAL BMW, they had a dyno day for E30's, in which 15 cars showed up. These were the dyno results.

    The specs read this way (the years of the cars were not listed):

    Car - Mods - BHP/Lb. ft. Torque

    1. 325i - Chip, K&N panel filter - 163.4/155.9

    2. 325iS - 2.8L, M52 328i crank, 320i rods, 284/272 cam, early 325i pistons, headers, 735i AFM - 185/176

    3. 325i - E30Zone chip, K&N panel filter, E36 325i injectors - 163/165

    4. 318iS - M44 1.9, big bore throttle body, custom exhaust, K&N panle filter - 145/128.6

    5. Alpina C2 - Alpina C2 2.7L - 171/175

    6. 325i cabrio - Magnex exhaust - 166/152

    7. 325i cabrio - STOCK - 174/153

    8. 325i touring - Chip - 165/154.5

    9. 325i touring - Big bore throttle body, chip, Alpina headers, Scorpion exhaust - 159/161

    10. 325iS auto - 2.7 stroker, MAF, Scorpion exhaust, big bore throttle body, UNI chip - 222/209.1

    11. 325i Sport - Early model ECU, E30Zone chip, K&N panel filter - 173/168.3

    12. 325i auto - STOCK - 156/152.9

    13. 325i - 282/272 cam, chip - 177/160.4

    14. 320i SE - 2.7 Hartge H27, big bore throttle body - 162.4/151

    Interesting numbers. Clearly these are FLYWHEEL estimates seeing the results of the all stock Touring. Car #2s output seems a little disappointing given the mods performed and comparing those figures with car #13.

    Good post. Hashing out numbers is always fun :D

      The Stock cabrio has more power than everything but the two strokers and the one with a cam.

          I agree there is no way that is wheel. To say a stock e30 is at 174???

          Josh, any info as to the type of dyno?

            interesting info nonetheless I suppose, definately not WHP though.

              Yeah, I know it doesn't tell A LOT, I just thought you guys would like to see the numbers. A lot of guys in the article said that their cars were running way rich, including the Hartge H27.

                E30 Solution "Bigger Injectors!"


                thats one of my pet peeves with the e30/bmw crowd in general, (exceptions of course) as opposed to the honda boys. Band-aid tuning is bogus, at least the honda boys buy fuel controllers.
