E36 Muffler on E30

I'm wondering would an E36 muffler (dual in - from 325/328) fit in E30 325 (same dual in) ? E36 muffler is kinda bend to the right on the enterance, I wonder if that's gonna be a problem or not. I've read it somewhere .... someone did this on E30 before, but I forgot where it was. :(

IIRC, the E36 muffler is much heavier than the E30 one.

That car looks hot, oh and it's not the bumper, it's a bumper cover, from the M-Tech 2, I had the same problem, just takes a little re screwing, but I want to ask u think that exhaust is a proper E46 M3 ?? back box, cause I recon it would sound pretty cool like that, and I wonder how much work it would take, cause I'm thinking u might have to take out the spare wheel well ??

Somewhere on maX, in a recent thread. He came out to a meet last night, the car looks really great. He had BBS RM's on it for a bit, but he's back to the 5-spokes again. I think it looks even better with the 'weaves.

It fits, however since you have a specifc muffler tip cut-out, that's what makes it trickier. The job would be much easier assuming you are going to bolt the muffler to a Factory e36 center section. You will also have to cut the tips off the muffler and remount them at the correct angle (because you will be mounting the muffler so it sits a little different compared to the e36.

Any, my advice would be to NOT use a factory e36 m3 muffler on the e30. Reason being, I have a '95 M3 center section and a '97 M3 rear muffer (all e36 m3 rear mufflers teh same). I did a test fit and it's not for the faint of heart, especially when having a specific muffler tip cut-out (might be easier for you depending on the M-tech II rear tip cut-out). I am selling my E36 M3 rear muffler and picking up an AA E36 M3 rear muffler to mate to the E36 center section because it is smaller, not to mention the standard m3 muffler weighs 47lbs with cat-back pipes.

Summary: the stock m3 muffler is really big, too big for the e30. It is going to be more of a headache than you think but will work if you're adamant about doing it.
