Starts without clutch ... 91 ix

When I first bought the car, the PO told me that to start the car, you needed to hold in the cruise handle. At the time, he said it was an additional security thing, but I never bought it. About two months ago, I had taken the car in to get a new CPS and clutch switch and ever since then, the car starts without the clutch or the cruise handle. It makes sense to me that if the clutch side of the clutch switch was going out, that holding in the cruise handle side of the clutch switch would have the same effect ... right?? But I am not sure why the car starts now without the clutch depressed at all.

    Hopefully I haven't confused everyone already :D

    Cheers

Sounds to me like a short in the column somewhere that made you have to push the cruise handle. Never heard that one. You don't and never have had to press in the clutch, on an e30.

all E30s start without the clutch in.. the switch is for cruise control only.

also, the ix has two clutch switches. the other is for the ABS computer.
