1991 318is w/S52 swap, no A/C. Full stock interior, basketweaves, spare and toolkit in the trunk, full tank of gas, no driver: 2660

Without gutting the interior, what is the best weight loss strategy? Does power steering weigh much? What about sunroof vs slicktop? Swap to crank windows?

You'll loose the most with exhaust, but you probably already have a much lighter exhaust with a 24v swap.
There's no really big things where you loose over 50 lbs except exhaust and removing sound deadening. It's all little things here and there that add up.
With a lot of things you kill two birds with one stone like if your doing coilovers anyway you save a few pounds there, if you're upgrading brakes anyway most of the common caliper upgrades are lighter than stock.
You've probably already done most of the engine bay stuff since you did a 24v swap.
Unfortunately there aren't any good fitting carbon fiber hood options available anymore.

Taking out your sunroof is more of a "lower center of gravity" mod instead of weight savings. It's like 30lbs I think. Just like seats bolted to the floor.

I have not yet weighed my 89 vert but expect it will be fairly light even with the B35 swap because of: cfrp hood, D-force 15x7's, UUC BBK, no A/C, lighter exhaust, removed trunk tar, "modified" diving boards, no fogs, Recaro LS-B's, and some other small stuff. Some things have added weight such as Luke box, Raceskids cross brace, skid plate, IE strut bar...

I may do more for weight loss but am at the point of diminishing returns. I like power steering. I plan to get it accurately weighed at some point.

I would also like to see some lighter vert weights.

1991 325i automatic 1/2 tank of fuel, A/C and trunk tar removed, no driver 2720 lbs

it is now manual swapped with more weight reduction and am hoping for closer to 2600 when I weigh it again.

Bump from a better time, wondering what’s the lightest someone has got their car to while keeping a full interior.

I weighed my car yesterday; 84 318i, no AC, no PS, lighter exhaust, 325i brakes and strut housings, medium case diff, nearly full tank, no driver. 2330 lbs. I’m gonna try to get it down to under 1000 kilos with the full interior still.

                                Does anyone have me beat?
