i dunno if that big ground wire is your problem my eta ran for a year with that disconnected, its fucked up but apparently that little ground strap for the injectors at the back of the valve cover can handle all the current from the starter lol (found that out and that the big wire wasn't connected when i adjusted my valves and forgot to connect that ground strap) lollz

Still haven't had a chance to check out the ground wire, but I stumbled upon another interesting problem. I was driving today, and I drove over some railroad tracks, causing a good shock to the front suspension. As soon as I hit the tracks, a LOUD buzzing/whining noise immediately gained my attention. It didn't seem to affect how the car drove, and I was about to pull into the parking lot of my destination, so I just kept going. I figured that the noise would stop as soon as I pulled out the key, but no dice. The blaring noise was coming from the fusebox, at least from what I could see/hear. I had to pull a battery cable to get it to shut up. I then put the cable back on, proceeded to check over the engine bay, shut the hood, slammed the door, and it started screaming at me again. At this time, my girl and I started laughing uncontrollably. I pulled the cable again, and it stayed off for the remainder of the day; I just made sure not to go over anything that would cause a shock to the suspension like that.
Any of you guys heard of something like that happening? I like how this E30 is surprising me everywhere I go xD.

Hey guys, a quick update =P. I had a friend come over and help me take an engine out of another car, and he gave a good once over on my 325. We found a vacuum line at the throttle body that went nowhere, so we plugged it with a bolt, and the idle immediately smoothed out. That solves one problem. I showed him how it dieseled, and we found that the in-line fuel pump keeps getting power after the ignition is turned off. If the car is turned on, and turned off fairly quickly (within 10-15 seconds or so), the car won't diesel, and it'll turn off as it should. It seems that there is some electricity gathering in it or something similar. I'm thinking the ground isn't working all that great, and am thinking about grounding the sucker straight to the chassis.
In other news, I found a horn under a plastic cover next to the fusebox. Turns out that I do have a factory alarm. Why this alarm went off out of nowhere is a mystery to me, but that certainly answers my question as to where the noise came from xD.

Once again, a small update. I've been noticing that the temps on the car have been a bit higher than normal as of late. It's gone about half way between 12 o'clock and the tick to the right of it, and I've never really seen it perform like that before. While I've never seen it go past that right tick, I'm getting worried about it lol. I was just wondering where everyone's normal temps were on the stock thermostat.
Also, my idling is still a bit silly. When I start the car and it's cold, it idles around 500-700, but as the car starts to warm up, the RPMs climb at idle. When it's fully warmed up, the car is usually around 1500 RPM at idle, but can get up to around 1800. What do you guys think this could be?
Thanks a ton in advance for your input guys =P.

Update time :3. I haven't been having many issues with the car as of late. I replaced the spark plugs, and it made a world of difference. It looks like those plugs haven't been changed in 100,000 miles, and now the car actually accelerates past half throttle, instead of stuttering. Today though, as I was about to head to class, I went to crank the car, and it kicked over, and then quickly died. I popped the hood, pulled the relay, got back in, cranked it again, and it kicked over and died right away again. This fight went on for about 3 or 4 more times until I decided to give it a good amount of throttle. I started the car and gave it some gas, and the car revved up to about 2k, I heard a pop, and then the car started dieseling. The next time I cranked it, it started playing ball again and idled. I'm thinking the Crank Position Sensor is starting to go, but I could be completely wrong. What do you guys think?
