    Driver door won't unlock! Help

When I turn the key on the driver door, it just kind of clicks and doesn't cause any door to unlock.

If I unlock the trunk, it will also unlock the passenger side door, but not the driver side. The passenger side lock doesn't turn at all. I assume that one is broken.

From the inside, I cannot open the driver door either - I assume that means it is currently double locked.

So, are there any tricks to getting the driver side unlocked?

Pull the door panel off from inside the car and then have someone operate the lock on the out side while you inspect the locking mechanism from the inside. Let us know if you see anything abnormal or binding.

It is either double locked or the linkage is broken. The linkage actually popped out of the lock on mine. How that happens, I do not know, but the lock wouldn't open the door. I don't have power locks, though, so I can't help much more than that. Either way, you will probably have to pull the door panel off to get a look at it. It just clips on, but there are screws on the bottom of the door handle and behind the mirror controls. Unscrew the lock on the top of the door and slide the hanle bezel towards the back of the door and lift up and the panel will come right off.

With my car the drivers door lock isnt connected to the barrel, i assume its the same sort of problem it has just come off inside the door panel. Ohh and my central locking computer also gave up the ghost now i just lock it from the passenger door if im leaving it for more than 5 minutes, but i have a alarm that at least scares off some dodgy people. I'd say best bet is to pop the door card and have a look inside see if its just popped off the barrel.
