Weird, I wonder if mine have been replaced, cause they were identical from what I can tell, even sizewise when I was comparing the runners...

150k on the motor, it snapped a timing belt so it has 1 broken rocker arm.

Let's drive fast and have fun.

Same here. But my car has been in the family since new, so nobody else replaced them.

yea ive already got a chip from a local tuner around here that bumped the redline and remapped the fuel. supposedly it gives ~20-24 hp. i'm trying to weigh my options because i can get a good condition m20b25 for 550 from a local yard.
I retired my E30 for now...

            Barely... Just barely...
But the ports are same size. If anything, I'd say that the Eta has
            a bigger diameter inside

I wish I had a dyno to test these both..
but the the difrences is very minimal.
            I have them F/S btw ;)

            Side by Side view.
It's the one on the right. Notice how the turndown to the flange has alittle less curve then the one on the left?

Hey if you just slap a "i" head on an e block what compression do you end up with? I am wondering if it would still be boostible?

                7.9

There's a guy on DTM that did it like a week ago.
                Maybe you can ask him?
I don't know his name but he has a hot blonde bitch in his sig.

                Boostable?
I think the lower the compression the more boost you can cram in, so
the lower the better I guess, right? :?

7.9:1 would handle boost nicely, i suppose you could shave the head a little to bring it more toward 8.2ish:1

i would also swap for the fordged 81mm crank

                    That's the million dollar question!
How much can you safely shave and what C/R will you have :?:

There should be a sticky about this. :P

The Bentley says 0.3mm is the max. recommended amount to shave from the head; e or i, same spec.

where would one go about getting a chip to take an eta from 4800 to 6500 redline?

I would contact Mark D. Do a search on r3v for info on him and a link to his site.
