Help with this weird vacuum/coolant part

so I just bought a 92 e30 convertible and it idled like crap so I went to check the icv and the hoses and found that all the vacuum hoses are shot. That is ok except this weird vacuum heater part that gives heat to the vacuum I guess. The connections on it are shot and I was looking for suggestions or a direction to turn to except off a cliff. Here is the culprit

p.s. the silver line is the coolant and the hoses are vacuum (thought this is obvious but just thought I should add it

You could delete your heater plates. no more problems and easier
      maintenance.

The hoses are pretty cheap. There are a bunch of threads about this on the M42club web site.
