Replacement driver's door lock cylinder

Hi all,

When I bought my car it came with a second, different key that only worked in the driver's door lock. I want to change that. Would this kit allow me to remake my lock cylinder to work with my ignition key? I realize I'd have to either match the bitting on my ignition key or take apart the passenger lock, and I'm wondering if the deadbolt function would function after.

I just did this . Took it to a locksmith and he keyed the tumbler and I installed it into my door afterwards

Buy the drivers door rebuild kit and play with it til it fits your preferred key. Locksmiths hate e30s and you pay for that

Yes, you can match the lock to your ignition key with that set. I used a set just like that to rebuild mine and fix the broken second lock (or whatever it's called) function. The piece that's in the middle left is the one that breaks IIRC. If you want to avoid the guess work trying to figure out the combination, take apart the passenger side lock and check the little plates with the holes on them (I can't remember what they are called). They all have a number on them. Match the numbers in the same order on the driver's side lock and the ignition key will work in that, too.
