Eta coolant sensors

In the side of the radiator I have two sensors. One has three wires connected to a red sensor, the other has two wires connected to a white sensor, is this correct? Am I correct in thinking the two wire is the auxillary fan switch? I need to ID these because for the time being I can only run one. Which one should I pick?

Edit: car is an m/o 1986 325e built 01/1986.

Those are thermo switches for the aux fan. They aren't needed if you don't have or aren't using AC.
