    Driveshaft clearAnce issues

So I have refreshed many parts over the last 2 month's.
My car was on jack stands for two months.
New rear bearings, rebuilt cv axles, installed new sububframe bushings, new trailing arm bushings, new rebuilt drive shaft
new cat ,new shifting bushings, dssr new guibo and new brake lines.

Went to drive car, and started to hear clunking in gear.
Car is back up on jack stands and found that driveshaft balance weight is hitting tunnel.
I also noticed that differential is not centered in sub frame?
any ideas on what I installed incorrectly?
it was difficult to bolt up differential to sub frame, lining up the mounting holes, not much room for error.

What type of subframe bushings did you use? 10-12mm offset? Might've installed upside down? First thing I would check...

Genuine BMW subframe bushings, i cant imagine they could be installed upside down.

How would sub frame bushings affect the orientation of the diff in the sub frame, the diff bolts into the sub frame and the offset of the bushings should not affect the orientation of the differential?
      Maybe i am missing something.

I'm not sure if this will explain all of your issues, but: Did you put the big washers on top of the subframe bushings before installing the subframe?

Can you show us a picture of the the way that the differential is not centered in the subframe?

How bad would it be to shim or add a washer to avoid clunking

Does this mean that the back of the differential is off to one side?

Is this something that could be caused by the wrong differential bushing? One that pulls the diff to one side?

I don't like the idea of a washer. It would be better to find the cause of the misalignment and fix it.

Another thought: The differential mount bushing has to be oriented properly. If it's rotated 90 degrees, will that pull the back of the differential out of position?

Any update on this? I'm curious to hear what you found?

I looked at Bentley it said shimming may be necessary.
put in one washer on each side between body and CSB no knocking and I have moved on.
                        thanks for everyone’s input

Great. Glad it didn't take much to fix.
