So I cracked my oilpan a month ago and did the swap with my e36 rack i put in and i'm worried it might happen again so i bought a Red46 skid plate. This cannot go on rn as the radiator core support started to rust and bend so the plate doesn't reach the core support. I am going to have someone cut out the bad part of the support and weld on a piece to fix it. Would there also be a way to raise the engine as another way of protecting it? I've seen people say they have put washers, made their own custom motor mounts, or even use hockey pucks. would putting in washers help to raise it so it's higher off the ground? And would I also have to put the same amount of washers on the tranny mounts? Would this create any noticeably louder sounds or make it feel bad while driving? Thank you!

Changing the driveline angle without further compensation is problematic. The driveshaft U-joints will compensate but only up to a certain point.
You might be able to get away with installing a few thick washers on the underside of the mounts, but obviously this is only avoiding the problem (instead of being a solution). Take care to note hood and firewall clearance if you choose to do this.
I would also drive really carefully around town (I'm assuming you're dunked on the ground).

Seems strange having clearance issues if it is stock. Agree on fixing the core support first and use the skid plate. DON'T raise the engine, it will play havoc with the drive line geometry. Seems like there has to be more to the story. Small, low profile tires? Lowering springs?2004 525i Manual - 1985 325E Coupe Manual
