the S14B20 made 192 HP at 6900 RPM and 155 Ft/lbs at 4900 RPM
the S14B23 made 192 HP at 6750 RPM and 170 Ft/lbs at 4750 RPM (figures for catylist-model)
Essentially they are the same engine, only differing in the shorter stroke for the B20 (72.6mm compared to the 84mm stroke in the B23). The bore was the same. In a nut-shell the B20 was a little "rev-happier", horsepower output was essentially the same, but Torque suffered due to the shorter stroke. Of course, all bets are off when it comes to racing motors.Last edited by RainierHooker; 02-10-2011, 04:02 PM.

Until the Sport Evolution came out for the 1990 model year (production began in Dec. 1989) the S14B23 was the only Homologated race motor for FIA International Touring Car Racing. The S14B20 was developed for Homologation in Championships that had the 2 Liter Cap, such as the British Touring Car Championship.
