Wierd. None of my hubs have that step in them that i recall. This is an m3 hub right? What do the back hubs look like? Same step?

Wheels don't fit on the hub like they should Help!

So today I installed the front struts on my car then I mounted
a wheel to see what kind of tires I could run (haven't bought
    tires yet)

Then came a problem, both set of wheels that I own that are
5x120 with a center bore of 72.5 won't sit correctly on the hub.

Both set don't clear the "step" on the hub.

From what I know the hub/bearings are e28 units and had the abs ring
swapped over from the old ones. I believe that except the abs ring they
    should be exactly the same.

So I tried a set of 211 RS. The chamfer is not big enough to clear the
"step" on the hub and the wheel sits approximatively 5mm from the hub.

    RS 211 16x8 5x120 et11 72.5

Same thing happens with the set of ACT's

    ACT LS 16x8.5 5x120 et19 72.5

What did I do wrong? Is it something stupid?
