No the seller said I had dibs... and it doesn't matter he had something for sale I said I'd take it. We had a deal.. and he flaked out.. it's simple. AND I didn't back out I gave my word.. here's where we differ when I say I'll take it I WILL NOT BACK OUT I am good at my word. Unfortunately no one else is... based on your take on this that's the reality that people's word and honor mean nothing.
I agree that if he committed to selling to you then didn't, he is a flake and his word is worthless. However, be careful when you say no one besides yourself is good for their word. It has nothing to do with whether someone owns an M3 or a bronzit 316i 4 speed automatic with blue comfort vinyl seats, everyone's integrity is their personal choice and buying used parts on an internet forum is hit or miss.

Ah, sorry about that, and your situation with the part. I think we've all been hosed a time or three from various sellers regardvlads of their reputation.

            Flakes are Flakes...

I have been on both sides. Several times I waited all day for a buyer that never showed up or even gave me a courtesy call to say they could not make it. Now I don't pull a part until they get here or call to say they are on the way. Problem solved! Conversely, I have committed to buy things and the seller flaked. I have not found a work around for this problem yet.

My take on this is don't get pissed off, it only makes your blood pressure go up. There are lots of flakes out there and the internet makes it easy for them to be themselves. If it is meant to be it will happen. Keep your standards high and don't let anyone compromise your ethics over car parts, they are not worth it.

            Cheers,

            Jim

I found that via Facebook, looks like its where you guys can still get your s14 on. Like I said earlier in this thread, I can't post over there, but I bet you guys can.

I posted that earlier in this thread. I can view the threads and log in but there's no "New Thread" button (for me, at least).

We're the ones they won't let back in hahahaha. R3V agreed to take us in like a prisoner exchange program.

About the parts - it's no big deal. I was still pissed about the wheels I got f*cked out of. I apologized to the seller of the parts, he was feeling pretty bad about what happened.
