Well it looks like I have a s14 to put into my e30 touring! Thanks for all the feed back. Now I need to figure out where the coolant tank is going to go because the battery is up front and I'm not sure it can be moved to the back.

Interesting you want a s14 in the touring. You can place it the coolant tank some other spot. My friend Frank never got back to me about the euro intake.

I want it to look like the m3's engine bay since I have the whole cooling system. And who wouldn't want a s14 in there engine bay?

Yeah interesting choice of motor... Just wondering, why choose the S14.. is it because of rarity, era appropriateness?? An N20 or S54 are better sources for power-to-weight-cost ratio... LSx swap if you choose to go off the reservation. Good luck with it, should be sweet!

I've seen a custom carpeted battery/sub box in the rear of a touring... running 2GA welding cable down the center tunnel so the speaker wires run at the door sills so wouldn't be near the interference.
          Rich!

Because I'm getting it for a good price and s14's are awesome motors! I like the 6 cylinder swaps but every body does them and I'd like to do something different And period correct.

Installing the engine and wiring isn't an issue but I can't see how the coolant hoses were routed from the back of the head? It seems like they would have to travel pretty far to connect to the m42 radiator. Do you have any close up pics of how the hoses were run? Can you also get pics of the front coolant hoses?

E30s. Below is a picture of my car for reference:

There's a big coolant hose on the back of the s14 head. Thats the hose I need to know where to put. My guess would be he routed it to the heater core. and deleted the little coolant hose that runs along the top of the valve cover. Either way I'll figure it out just thought it would be quicker to ask since he already had it done. If he could send me a pic of his engine bay like you did that would help out a lot more than side angle shots that don't show any coolant hose routing.

^ ok, deleted since you don't need any reference.

Also, your response seems it carried a bit of an attitude :tsk:- I may be wrong - The fact is you're the one asking for help not the other way around and I'm not speaking for him, but i'm going to assume his S14 E30 runs fine and I know mine does and in all honesty, that gentleman doesn't have to help you at all. There is a better way to ask for help; you say "I don't need a reference" and in the same breath, wants someone to send you more pics.

But like i said i could be wrong, either way good luck with your swap.

I'm sorry if you thought there was attitude. I'm not sure if you read the post correctly. I know he's running a M42 radiator in the touring, it's in my post above. I know both your cars run fine. Thats a given. It seems that the gentleman above was very nice and did help me by posting pics when I asked. I just couldn't see the coolant hose routing. So I asked for a better picture of the cooling system. I didn't ask him with any attitude to post more? Then you post a pic of an m3 cooling system for a reference. That was nice but I'm not putting an s14 in a m3 so it wouldn't be a good reference is all I meant. But thank you for trying to help out.

I think the real question here is, what is wrong with the M3 the S14 is coming out of? Why are they parting it out? It looks like its in decent shape from the pics of the engine bay. Hopefully they aren't doing it for a motor swap. :(
