    E30 M3 engine

I have a chance to get a good running E30 M3 s14 engine. It has schrick cams, ported head, tuner chip, 119,XXX on the clock. The head was rebuild 30k ago when they installed the schrick cams. The engine is still in the car and runs hard. I've driven 4 e30 m3's besides this one and thats how I'm basing my statement on how good it runs.

So my question is how much would a s14 in this condition be worth?
    Thanks, Jon

A lot of money. All depends on what comes with it. $4-5k complete with wiring, dme, trans.

The harness and computer are included. Not sure about the trans yet

Did a cold compression test today and the numbers were as follows.
        #1 180
        #2 190
        #3 185
        #4 190

Does anyone else have any insight to what this is worth?

My suggestion would be to do a search on s14.net and look to se what others are going for.

I tried to register on s14.net and it wouldn't let me. I looked around there but nothing to similar. Thats why I'm trying to get a better idea of what someone might think a s14 in this condition would go for. Thanks for the suggestion though.

4-5k would be about the norm.

If it came with trans...it would sell quickly at $4k. Because of the headwork/cams, you can easily add a grand for that. In actuality, it cost $1K for cams + $1k for headwork/valve job so that's 2k right there. Could maybe even get 6K for the package if not in a rush to sell.

                  ^ I agree... Add it all up $1k Headwork, $1k cams, S14 motor $2500, 265 Trans. $600, harness $300, DME $300... @$5700 +/- $500
                  Rich!

Paid 5K for a engine/trans 5 years ago with E3 cams and head work with 500 break in miles. Came with a harness and all accesories and two clutches.

I would pay significantly more for it these days. It's 8K for a zero mileage engine from BMW and you need a useable core.

$8k for a 2.3L block with heads too? That's not that bad of a deal considering.....

My cost, local dealer gives me 18% off their list but that was 4 years ago can only imagine what it is now and that was just a long block....head and lower end.

Looks like the rebuilt engine is NLA right now.

Most likely due to lack of decent cores.
