You got hoodwinked, that's a fake Alpina motor with a cheap Chinese manifold. I'll save you the embarrassment and take it off your hands for $400.

Yup on drivers side halfway on the block... how much did he let it go for? If you don't mind me asking?

If it is B6 3.5 260hp or B6 2.8 210hp. If B6 3.5 the year should say 1986-87. Later Alpina B6 3.5 used a m30 stock intake and e30 m3 B6 3.5s.

When were you able to take a look? You were able to see the 3.5 casting on the block?
