Thanks. I got into the fuel tank. Great news there - no rust! I may still have it cleaned, but it should be good to go with some new lines

Got another quick question for you. I bought this part after reading a post here at some point

My question is, do I need to get the other two (L and R) parts next to it in realoem? I cant tell if those L and R parts are for the engine bay too, or if they go under the dash in the interior.

01 SOUND INSULAT.DASH PANEL ENGINE ROOM CE.
          01 SOUND INSULAT.DASH PANEL ENGINE ROOM L.
          01 SOUND INSULAT.DASH PANEL ENGINE ROOM R.

          Appreciate the help.

The one you bought goes in the center and down into the transmission tunnel. Its not as big on the sides as it looks on Real OEM. the other two part numbers go on the driver's side (behind the fuse box) and the passenger side (behind the coolant overflow reservoir). I am replacing all three.

Edit: All three are in the engine bay

                Seats coming apart!

That's where I stopped because I didn't have a set of snap ring pliers-old set broke. I called ECS about returning a brake bleeder wrench that didn't fit in exchange for some snap ring pliers that were the same price. They told me they'd just send me the pliers and not to worry about returning the wrench :-O

Also, had a long talk with Furniture Clinic. All of this is on the way. I have high expectations.

Leatherique works very well. The sanding and crack filling part doesn't last unfortunately - maybe a couple of seasons wear before it starts cracking again.

Those seat backs look to be in terrific condition..

I've seen a lot of instances of leatherique peeling, but have heard a lot of good stories about furniture clinic's stuff being very durable. The dye is supposed to penetrate down into the leather instead of being a top coat. We shall see. The seats are in ok shape, those pics are a little poorly lit...

Apparently the part is not found on m3s originally. Its a very early e30 m20/m21 part but works well for our cars as well. I do not like the clips the m3 uses. Not to mention, my car is missing 1 of the 2 little studs that hold them.

The proper clips, which look like this:

And you wedge them inbetween these little studs

Underside review before deciding how to proceed. Decided to clean up, keep original where it is in good shape, redo undercoating in a few areas with cuts/abrasions so that it is watertight, undercoat will stay oem tan with red overtop (in an oem style pattern, which is less than 100%, paint coverage). Wheel wells will be black.

Look at that primer line for the windshield epoxy. That's why the right body shop matters. The guys at Magnum did this without me even having to ask - they know that the primer is a better surface for the windshield epoxy bond than paint would be. Very cool.
