    E30 with e36 bilstein pss9 co

    Hi first post here.

So i did the 5 lug swap using e36 front parts and e30 m3 rear and i am running the e36 m3 bilstein pss9 coil overs. As i have read so far and found out is common the rear is higher then the front, which if it has to be that way i dont care.

The front feels fine on this suspension setup it rides just the way i hoped it would! But then the rear bounces around real bad and there is no nice spot when i change the dampning on the shock it goes from bouncy to break shit harsh. So just wondering what i could use for springs in the rear. I have tried kormans but all i know is they were black and from an e30 m3. Any other ideas on what springs to use perhaps personal experience's?

This is the setup I plan on using, looks sick...what springs are currently on the car?

It's the bilstein pss9 coilovers for a e36 m3 but the rear springs don't ride very nice. Trying to figure out what springs I should use for the back.

Wow, I'd never have thought that ZHP wheels would look decent on an E30. What rates are the springs? For the rear you generally want to start around 600lbs/in.
          paint sucks

I've had practically every suspension under my car, and a lot after 5-lug swap. If your rear feels funny and loose, it's not in your springs. My car sits on Eibachs right now, it's very stiff.

Check you shocks... and maybe get a decent rear sway bar.

I dont know the spring rate just used what came in the box.

Shocks are fine just need some better upper mounts. I have H&R sway bars front and rear. Im pretty sure its the springs. Just want to know what springs you guys are using, i dont want any that are going to sag after a year i hate that.

I've ran coil-overs, Eibachs, H&R races and sports. Granted, I have urethane everything, my rear is solid with any springs. Even considering putting stock ones in for a little while.

Im not using any urethane parts in the back. Ive been thinking about the h&r race but not sure on how low they will be, i dont want the back to be to much higher then the front right now its 17.5inchs front and 18.5inchs rear measureing to about the bottom of the side moldings.

does anyone have measurments with the h&r races installed??

E36 rears are longer than E30's so try running some shortened spring in the rear.

^ great point. Are you running e36 rear shocks?

Yes it's a coilover kit for a e36 m3. The shocks are adjustable.

rear e36 shocks are longer than e30 ones. You're riding on bump stops.

How much longer because when I switch to e30 m3 rear springs the bouncy feeling went away.

About 2 inches longer. E36 have more travel since they have a newer style suspension.
