    e36m front/ti rear Brake Bias

When I was running w/o abs, I could easily lock up my fronts, and I have done it on numerous occasions when driving on the street (panic stops + street tires), and even a few times on the track. Not intentionally of course, as I don't like flat spotting tires. I've bled the system a trillion times thinking the rear calipers were frozen or something, all to no avail.

I've put the ABS back in just as a safety measure. Obviously, the bias is off. I am running the stock booster with the stock e30 master.

I thought about running a set of pads with more bite in the rear, but I feel like its kind of a band aid to the problem. Is there another master that will get more pressure to the rear? Or maybe some other sort of trick to equalize brake force?

I have been fighting this problem for a while too and have looked into a few different ways to deal with it. I am running HT10s up front & DTC60s in the rear, but it would be better to utilize another way. As far as I can tell there are a few solutions:

    1. (the best IMO, but most expensive) Z3 M Coupe/Roadster Rear Trailing Arms & Brakes.

    2. Remove the proportioning valve below the booster on the frame rail & install an adjustable wilwood or summit valve. Use different rear pads if bias still exists.

    3. Bug Brake Kit for 318ti (Massive comes to mind). This is also expensive.

Not a whole lot of options, but these are just a few that come to mind. HTH.

Also, I would switch to a 25mm Master Cylinder as it will help the pedal feel tremendously (stock is 22mm).

I would say use the distribution valve and call it a day.

So, its been criticized a few times. idk why. I simply put a wilwood brake bias on the front line and was done with it. Even with the rear limiter off/bypassed the front needs to be pressured down. Works beautiful now i have yet to experience brake fade at the track with these brakes and track compound. Its awesome having your rear brakes work for something more than aesthetics ; | and they aint even that good looking
          No more e30s for me.

lol I can see why you've been criticized. It's generally looked down upon to bias the front channels, but that is exactly what our 5-lug swaps need.

Ive got the 25mm master, just gotta put it in.

Every resource I can find on the web says you should never put the valve on the front.
I am currently working on fitting some E46 330ci rear rotors and E36 328i calipers. (I have these parts lying around)

Same issue here. My ABS isn't working due a bad rear sensor (replacing it soon).

I wonder if the rear brakes or the whole brakes from a wrecked e46 M3 that I spoted could work in nour 5 lug e30 cars? Anyone ever tried it?
