E30M3 and non M3 hub diameter

5 Lug swap from e30m3 or e36m3 with modifications is not the current solution for me yet.
I would like to know what is the outer diameter, I may will be redrilling non m3 hub to 5x120.
I noticed that M3's bolt hole is pretty close to end of the hub. I don't really want to run with adapters...
I am hoping that there is enough room on non m3 hub to drill 5x120 on it if it has same diameter as M3. I really want to run 16x8 "style 5" :nice:

I'm not sure if it can be done but the m3 center is 72.6 vs 57mm. I would think its been tried by now. How about adapters?

Thanks! How about rear hub, I noticed non M3 hub is more wider than front?

I am not worried about centerbore :)
I don't really want to use adapters because it acts like spacer, I want to keep the offset with whatever rims I want to go with.
Suppose I machined 15mm thick ring that slips on the hub while heated then weld bead around, grind or machine it true flat. Just a thought..

If you want to "5 lug" your car just to run those wheels I'd consider going about things differently. Just have the wheels redrilled to 4x100 OR buy 4x100 to 5x120 adapters.

I understand in safety standpoint but why can't anyone answer my question though? If non m3 hub have same diameter as M3 hub then I don't see any reason it would fail.
M3 hub has endured tons of track, rally, autox abuse without any problem.
It would be greatly cheaper to redrill hubs instead on rims also I don't like running covers on style 5, it looks better without them therefore I don't want to see extra holes on the rim.
If the hub is too small then I will just shut up then :D

Non m3 hub are 120mm overall diameter.
There isn't enough hub to safely redrill a new 5x120 bolt pattern. The 57.1 diameter you're referring to is the wheel locating diameter.

Ok I see, the 120mm bolt pattern is measured offset from centerline so definitely no meat left to redrill.
Seems M3 hub overall diameter would be around 135mm?
I would like to know non m3 rear hub diameter as well.

                  M3 is about 139mm
I couldn't find reference online but I have my hubs exposed right now so I'll get the rear measurement for you.

But like MR 325 said, This is going to be a VERY expensive route just to get wheels to fit.

Thank you for the specs, appreciate it!

Yep I know it will be expensive for swap route haha, just exploring other options :)
