    e38 styles 5 set up

    Hey everyone,

I am half way done with my 5 lug conversion. My question is as follow, I am using rear 318ti setup and front e36 M3 set up, will I have a problems using e38 styles 5 rims with my 5 lug set up?

    Thanks

No, but on the front you may need a spacer. I have Ground Control setup and needed at min a 5mm spacer. 18mm spaces it out nicely, but 12mm would probably be best if you have not rolled your inner fenders.

Cool, do you have the same set up as me?

They don't need any spacer to clear standard style E36 M3 struts. You'll only need the spacer to clear coilovers since it puts the spring perch lower. What you will have a problem with it fitting tires inside the fender with them. You'll need some serious rolling and nothing wider than a 205.

Ok thats good to know. I've purchased the eastwood roller. Now to my next question. I currently purchased the E36 M3 front set up and this is all I it comes with are calipers, carriers, hubs, ABS sensors and dust shields, what else do I need?

Also I will not be running Coilovers, so can I run the e30 struts instead, I'm running H&R Sports..

If I understood correctly, I need the strut, but is it the entire assembly such as the picture below:

I also think I made a mistake buying rear 318ti especially for tracking car according to some of the reading I've done. I guess I will have to buy BBK, which I was gonna buy, but not yet. Oh well.....

You need the 1996+ E36 M3 spindles and control arms along with any E36 M3 brakes. You need to use E30 M3 geometry offset control arm bushings. You need to use E36 M3 front struts because the E30 struts will absolutely not work. You'll be able to run your E30 springs and strut mounts though.

Sounds like you need to do some more research on this...

tell me about it, I purchased the entire front conversion without E36 M3 control arms and rotors thinking that would be my only expense. Needles to say, that wasn't it. Now I have to purchase struts as well. The good news is that the rear is done.

Ok I just bought the entire Strut Assembly. Now I have to buy the shocks, Control arms and rotors. Its only getting better.
